Understanding your dog's status
Your dog's status lets you know how your dog feels in one word based on the heat index measured at the PuppComm. Each status will have a different background which serves as another visual indication to let you know how your dog feels. There are five status levels for your dog: Cold, Cool, Comfy, Warm, and Hot.
How are statuses and alerts related?
The app uses your dog's status to determine when to send you alerts according to the following rules.
- As long as your dog is comfy, you won't receive any alerts from the app.
- You'll receive an alert every time your dog's status changes either to let you know that your dog's status is moving away from comfy, or headed back towards it.
- As long as your dog is cool or warm you'll receive alerts every ten minutes until you return to your PuppComm and turn it off.
- As long as your dog is cold or hot, you'll receive alerts every five minutes until you return to your PuppComm and turn it off.
How do we determine the status levels for your dog?
Every dog is different and can feel temperature differently based on their unique breed, weight, age and gender; what might be almost cool for one dog might almost warm for another. We've developed our proprietary BSCUIT algorithm to determine where to set the status levels for your dog. We use BSCUIT to set your dog's status levels by default during onboarding but you can also adjust them manually either during onboarding or from the Dogs page in your user portal.
What if I have multiple dogs on my account?
When you add or remove dogs from your account in the dogs page on your user account portal, your status levels will automatically be adjusted to reflect all of the dogs on your account. For the safety of all of your animals, if you have multiple dogs on your account, we'll set the status levels for your app at the most conservative level for each of your dogs.
