BSCUIT (Breed Specific Climate Understanding Information Technology) is PuppTech's proprietary algorithm that we have developed to provide you with individualized information concerning your dog's safety. BSCUI's algorithm uses the Tufts Animal Care and Condition Scale (TACC) to evaluate dog conditions and produces a “BSCUIT score” to let you know the level of risk that your dog is potentially exposed to as a result of the heat index measured at the PuppComm.
How does BSCUIT work?
BSCUIT uses information that you provide about your dog's breed, weight, gender and age to calculate an optimal temperature range for your individual dog. BSCUIT uses this information to determine characteristics about your dog such as the shape of their face, the length of their coat, and whether or not they're overweight, to determine your dog's BSCUIT score. BSCUIT is based on data on 178 breeds that has carefully researched and compiled by PuppTech's team. BSCUIT uses this information to calculate your dog's BSCUIT score at any heat index, which provides an indication of the level of risk that your dog is potentially exposed to as a result of that heat index.
How is BSCUIT used by the app?
BSCUIT is used to set your dog's status levels and therefore determines when you get alerts about changes in the heat index measured at the PuppComm.
